I am struggling. We got news yesterday that turned my world upside down. My rock, my protector, my best friend, my momma is going to have to have a quadruple bypass. I know it is not that big of a deal anymore, I know they have made so many strides when it comes to this surgery but still. I am scared. I am worried, I am numb, I am sick and I am lonely in my fear. I spent 3 months in the NICU, I am no stranger to death and mortality. But that doesn't mean it doesn't scare the crap out of me facing it with my mom. It will be okay. But I'm not ready-I don't want to do this-I'm selfish. I want my mommy. I want to go back to the time where I could run to her and with a hug she could make it better. Kiss my boo-boo and my fear away. I don't want to be the adult, but I will. Like I told K2-we are the women-we have to be strong. We are the ones that our men look to for comfort. So we will cry but we will go on and be strong. And scared.

I am so sorry, Amy, to hear that your mother needs an operation. It is scary. I understand the craving for a mom who can make it all feel better; it's hard when that mom is the one who needs the support.

My grandfather survived 2 heart operations and lived until his 90s and his operations were in the 1980 and 1990s, if that's any consolation. I'm sure they've made even more progress since then.

Here's a virtual {hug} for strength.

(PS: the floor cleans up well...)

Oh, goodness, I'll be thinking of you. No two ways about it, it is scary but we're thinking of you if that helps any. Please keep me posted.

Oh Amy Im so sorry that you have to go through this, I know how nervous I would be if this were my momma. Im sure that she has great doctors and they will take great care of her. I will be thinking of you and your mom, hoping that things go well.
Keep your chin up =)

Amy, I am sorry.

Somedays, there are NOT enough rocks.

(Nerdy Forrest Gump quote)

Keep us posted, would you?

Good luck.

So sorry about your mom needing surgery...it is always scary when someone we love has to have surgery. I'm not sure if I tuned in after her surgery or not but I'll be keeping my fingers crossed and thinking good thoughts for you!

When does she go in? I was thinking I had heard but can't find it anymore. I know the heart team was busy yesterday and I wondered if I should come find you.

If you go down when she has it and need a small distraction, you can come find me on the 3rd floor. Just ask for me at the front desk.

Amy, it will all be just fine. You cannot imagine what amazing things can be done by modern medicine these days. We are lucky to be alive in these times! All will be well.
